Mississippi Valley State University is the youngest of the eight state-assisted institutions. In February 1999, the university announced plans for a $25 million national campaign. "The Campaign for the New Millennium" will provide additional student scholarships, help recruit top faculty, and enhance other academic programs.
In the fall 2003 semester, the University reached a milestone of 4,011 students; the first time the University enrolled more than 3,000 students in 25 years.
