Game 1: Prairie View A&M Defeats Mississippi Valley State 3-1

Prairie View A&M overcame Mississippi Valley State 3-1 (25-23, 21-25, 25-17, 25-21) to maintain a position in the winner's bracket and take on the winner of the Alabama A&M/Southern match this afternoon.

Cheri Lindsay had a game-high 21 kills for the Lady Panthers while Shaun Williams added 13. Erin Fondel posted 51 assists in the match and Sapphire Reid tallied a game-high 16 digs.

MVSU was led by Brychana Williams with 12 kills. Maura Moed and Shonese Evans each accumulated 11 kills in the game. The Devilettes will face the loser of the Alabama A&M/Southern match this afternoon.

Game 2: Jackson State Takes Texas Southern 3-0

Final stats

Led by Ebonee Dawson's 18 kills, Jackson State soared past Texas Southern3-0 (25-10, 25-23, 25-20) to remain in the winner's bracket and face the winner of the Grambling State/Alabama State match later today.

Asialonte Clay and Brittany Larkin each added 11 kills for the Lady Tigers while LaToya Clark had a game-high 33 assists. Whitney Nowlin also contributed 15 digs for J-State.

Texas Southern was led by Emma Obi and Ashlee Cooper with eight kills apiece. TXSO falls to the loser's bracket and will face the loser of the Grambling State/Alabama State match later this afternoon.
