The Alcorn State softball squad drew No. 1 seed Alabama in the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional Softball Tournament as announced on Sunday night during the selection show on ESPNU.

The Lady Braves (23-23) will take on the Crimson Tide (36-20) on Friday, May 21 at the Alabama Softball Complex at 6 p.m. (CT). The opening game of the regional will feature UAB (36-20) and Lipscomb (48-11).

Alcorn State claimed the 2010 SWAC Softball title to clinch the automatic bid in the NCAA tournament.

The winner of the Tuscaloosa Regional will play the winner of the NCAA Stanford Regional, which includes Hawaii, Stanford, UC Davis and Texas Tech, in the NCAA Super Regional play.
