VOLLEYBALL
OFFENSIVE
OH Cheri Lindsay, Prairie View A&M; 5-8, JR; Denver, CO
Lindsay had 32 kills in two wins for the Lady Panthers last week, including a 3-1 divisional win over Southern. Lindsay also recorded four blocks and three service aces for the week.
Lindsay currently leads the SWAC in kills, averaging 3.25 per game.
DEFENSIVE
S/DS Whitney Nowlin, Jackson State; 5-2, SR; Dallas, TX
Nowlin tallied 40 digs in three games last week as the Lady Tigers went 3-0 while picking up a 3-1 divisional win over Mississippi Valley State.
Nowlin is ranked fourth in the conference in digs, averaging 3.53 per game.
NEWCOMER
OH/RS Clarissa Moore, Alabama A&M; 5-11, FR; Houston, TX
Moore posted a .586 hitting percentage while recording 18 kills for the Bulldogs in a divisional win over Alabama State last week.
Moore leads the SWAC with a .282 hitting percentage. This is her fourth Newcomer of the Week honor and second consecutive week.
SOCCER
OFFENSIVE
F Raven White, Southern; 5-9, FR; Houston, TX
White scored two goals including the game-winning goal that lifted the Lady Jaguars past Texas Southern 3-2 and into this week's conference championship.
White is currently ranked fifth in the SWAC in shots, averaging 2.86 per match.
DEFENSIVE
D Dominique Denmark, Grambling State; 5-4, FR; Palm Bay, FL
Denmark anchored a Lady Tigers' defense that held Arkansas-Pine Bluff scoreless in a 1-0 victory for GSU. The win secured the Lady Tigers the #1 seed heading into the tournament this week.
This is Denmark's third Defensive Player of the Week honor this season.
GOALKEEPER
GK Jessie Garcia, Prairie View A&M; 5-9, FR; Houston, TX
Garcia collected 15 saves while also posting a shutout as the Lady Panthers went 1-1 last week, including a divisional win over Southern.
Garcia also scored the lone goal in the victory over SU as she connected on a penalty kick at the 83:42 minute mark.
