The 2009 Southwestern Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships will continue as scheduled this weekend in Houston, TX.

“After extensive review of the information with local officials, we feel confident the health and well-being of our student-athletes, coaches, officials, and fans at the SWAC Championship event will be maintained,” said SWAC Commissioner Duer Sharp, who is in Houston for the SWAC Championship meet. “We will take the necessary precautions and continue to monitor the situation daily.”

The SWAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held Friday – Sunday, May 1-3. Running events will be staged at Texas Southern’s Durley Stadium, while field events held at Rice University’s Soccer/Track Stadium.

Championships Meet Schedule
