GAINESVILLE, FL. – (courtesy JSU Sports Information) The Jackson State women’s golf team 2008-09 season came to an end Saturday evening as the Lady Tigers finished in 21st place in the final round of the NCAA Division I Women’s East Regional held at Mark Bostick Golf Course at the University of Florida. The Lady Tigers shot a 330 on the last day of the regional, which was a six stroke improvement on Friday’s round.
The Lady Tigers shot a 990 (324 – 336 – 330, +150) for 21st place. Mirielle LeBlanc led JSU with a 240 (79 – 82 – 79, +30) to finish in 94th place. Erica Payton tied for 101st place with a score of 246 (84 – 86 – 76, +36). Cammrynn Stith finished in 103rd place with a score of 249 (76 – 83 – 90, +39). Jennifer Sells shot a 255 (85 – 85 – 85, +45) for 106th place and Amy Breakwell finished in 108th place with a score of 284 (94 –91 – 99, +74).
The University of Denver won the East Regional with a score of 862 (287 –296 – 279, +22). The Alabama Crimson Tide came in second place with an 866 (284 – 291 – 291, +26) and the hosting Florida Lady Gators came in 16th place with a score of 908 (305 – 301 – 302, +68).
