Mississippi Valley State Sweeps Weekly Honors

WOMEN'S

Irene Cherubet, Mississippi Valley State; FR; Nairobi, Kenya

Cherubet finished with a time of 20:56.78 at the LSU Cross Country Invitational last weekend in Baton Rouge, LA.

Cherubet, who was the top SWAC finisher in the 5K race, placed 30th out of 115 runners at the meet. The Devilettes finished 13th among 16 teams at the competition.

MEN'S

Jose Lopez, Mississippi Valley State; 5-9, SR; National City, CA

Lopez placed fifth out of 112 total runners last week at the LSU Invitational, while recording a time of 26:35.06 in the 8K race.

Lopez's efforts helped lift the Delta Devils to a second place finish out of a competitive pool of 13 teams.
