WOMEN

PLAYER

G Trikeyia East, Texas Southern; 5-9, SR; Houston, TX

East averaged 15.5 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals as Texas Southern went 2-0 last week while moving up to third place in the SWAC's standings.

East recorded a double-double in both of the Lady Tigers' wins and posted a season-high 20 points versus Univ. Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

NEWCOMER

C Gabrielle Rosigi, Texas Southern; 6-3, JR; Tulsa, OK

In two wins for the Lady Tigers, Rosigi averaged 14.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals including six crucial points during overtime in a 90-82 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Monday.

This is Rosigi's second consecutive week as Newcomer of the Week.

MEN

PLAYER

G Deandre Hall, Texas Southern, 6-6, 180; SR; Pontiac, MI

Hall averaged 29.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals for the Tigers, who moved into sole possession of first place with victories over Mississippi Valley State and Univ. Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Hall posted a career-high 37 points with five rebounds, three assists and four steals in Texas Southern's 74-73 win over Mississippi Valley State Saturday night. Hall was 17-of-25 from the field, including making two of four from three-point range in the win. Hall's 37 points is the most in the SWAC since Trey Johnson of Jackson State scored 38 points at Alabama State on Jan. 2, 2007.

NEWCOMER

F Bo Amusa, Alabama A&M; 6-6, 205; JR; Grayson, GA

Amusa averaged 13.0 points and 10.5 rebounds in a pair of Bulldogs' road victories over Southern and Alcorn State.

Amusa recorded his first double-double of the season in Saturday's 70-63 win at Southern with 11 points and 14 rebounds in helping Alabama A&M to the first of its two road wins this season.
