Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week: March 27
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Alcorn State sprinters Bralon Robinson and Jessica Ransom, Arkansas-Pine Bluff jumper Travis Bibbs, and Texas Southern thrower Christelle Nintcheu have been named the Southwestern Athletic Conference's Track and Field athletes of the week following their performances this past weekend.
Men's Track Athlete of the Week - Bralon Robinson, Alcorn State

During the Mississippi State-hosted Al Schmidt Relays, Robinson finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.41. The freshman out of Canton, Miss. also turned in a 21.70 to cross the finish line 10th in the 200-meter dash and ran the anchor leg of the 4x100-meter relay. The team combined for a 40.91 to place fourth. His time in the 200-meter dash is a personal best.
Women's Track Athlete of the Week - Jessica Ransom, Alcorn State

Ransom won the women’s 400-meter dash Friday as she shaved off over a second of her season-best with a time of 54.64. The Houston, Texas native also finished eighth in the 200-meter dash (24.55) and ran the second leg of the 4x400-meter relay, placing sixth with a combined time of 3:53.55. Ransom set new personal-best marks in the 200-meter and 400-meter dash events.
Men's Field Athlete of the Week - Travis Bibbs, Arkansas-Pine Bluff

Bibbs picked up two top-3 results during the Golden Lions' efforts at the Texas-Arlington Bobby Lane Invitational this past weekend. The Houston, Texas product won second place in the triple jump with a distance of 15.22m (49-11.25 feet), and he cleared 7.07m (23-02.5 feet) to earn third place in the long jump event. Bibbs' long jump result is his personal best in competition, and the junior's triple jump distance now ranks him as No. 1 among conference athletes this season.
Women's Field Athlete of the Week - Christell Nintcheu, Texas Southern

Nintcheu competed in four throwing events during the Prairie View Relays, collecting top-3 finishes or better in each. Nintcheu won the shot put (12.25m; 40-02.25 feet) and hammer throw (39.45m; 129-05 feet) events and claimed second place with a career-best throw of 36.66m (120-03 feet). To conclude her weekend, the Austin, Texas native earned third place in the discus throw. Nintcheu's marks in the hammer throw and javelin throw are personal-best distances, and as a result of her efforts in the javelin, is ranked No. 1 in SWAC perfomance lists in the discipline.
