Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week: April 18
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Jackson State sprinter Azariah Foster and jumper Jauvany Hyde, Alabama State sprinter Charminique Hackney, and Southern thrower Faith Estelle have been recognized by the Southwestern Athletic Conference as track and field athletes of the week for meets occuring April 13-14.
Men's Track Athlete of the Week - Azariah Foster, Jackson State
Jr. | Hurdles | 6-3 | Covington, Ga.
Foster won two events during the Ole Miss-hosted Joe Walker Invite this past weekend, claiming the 110-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles. Foster clocked a 52.55-second time in the 400m hurdles, and he set a new personal best time in the 110m hurdles, finishing in 14.05.
Women's Track Athlete of the Week - Charminiqu Hackney, Alabama State

Hackney picked up a trio of top-3 results during the Tiger Track Classic at Auburn University. Hackeny set a new personal-best mark on her way to a third-place finish in the 100-meter dash, finishing in 11.46 seconds. Additionally, Hackney was part of Alabama State's 4x100-meter relay team that finished second with a time of 44.85 seconds. The quartet's result is now the best time posted by a SWAC institution in competition this year. Hackney also ran a leg of the Lady Hornets' 4x400-meter relay, which finished third (3:43.85).
Men's Field Athlete of the Week - Jauvany Hyde, Jackson State

Hyde collected a pair of top-3 finishes at the Joe Walker Invite hosted by Ole Miss. Hyde cleared 14.68 meters (48-02.00 feet) to earn second place in the triple jump event, and he followed that with a third-place result in the long jump. Hyde managed a distance of 7.17 meters (23-06.25 feet) during competition.
Women's Field Athlete of the Week - Faith Estelle, Southern

Highlighted by a personal record, Estelle earned two top-10 showings during the Strawberry Relays at Southeastern Louisiana this past weekend. Estelle set a new career-best in the hammer throw, earning third place with a throw of 53.13 meters (174-04.00 feet). The junior also took ninth place in the discus throw with a heave of 32.37 meters (106-02.00 feet).
