BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Southwestern Athletic Conference's presence will be felt in Eugene, Ore. as several SWAC standouts have advanced to the NCAA Division I Track and Field National Championships to take place from June 7-10 at Hayward Field.

Prairie View A&M's men's 4x100m relay team -- Keon Campbell, Samuel Omoera, William Polley and Carl Jordan -- ran a 39.340-second time at the West Regionals in Austin, Texas to earn a spot at nationals. The Panthers' time was ninth-best in its regional field.

On the women's side, PVAMU's Deonca Bookman ran a season-best 57.94-second time in the 400m hurdles, advancing to the national championships. Her time was third-best among all West competitors.

Alabama State's 4x100m relay squad -- Josh Davis, Justin Davis, Devin O'Neal and Norris Spike -- ran a 39.16-second mark in the East Regionals at the University of Kentucky to earn a spot in Eugene. Their time was also ninth-best in its field. Jo. Davis and O'Neal also advanced to the 200m quarterfinals, with the former coming just shy of qualifying in the event, missing out by four-thousandths of a second.
