Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays (Univ. of Texas)

AUSTIN, Texas - Prairie View and Grambling A&M took to Austin, Texas to participate in the 90th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.

PVAMU's Deonca Bookman finished eighth in the finals of the women's 400 meter dash. Bookman finished the race with a time of 59.08.

Junior Logan Williams 20th-ranked in the nation and 1st in the Southwestern Athletic Conference qualified for the finals of the Men's 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.08. Although this is a preliminary time, it marks his career best. Williams went on to finish seventh overall.

Grambling's 4x400 men's relay team was seventh in its race. On the women's side, Kenya Wheeler finished fith in the shotput.

Results

SAN MARCOS, Texas - Grambling State and Prairie View A&M continued their Texas tour this weekend, competing at Texas State University's Bobcat Invitational. 

PVAMU's Jada Curbeam finished ninth in the women's heptathlon with a total score of 3802. The Lady Panthers' 4x100m and 4x400m relay squads each claimed third at the event.

Also for the Panthers, Deante Crittenden placed fourth in the finals of the men's high jump (1.95 meters).  Tristan Ham finished 11th in the pole vault clearing 4.55 meters marking this as a collegiate best. Kamryn Collins placed fourth in the long jump (7.29 meters). The Panthers had two men's 4x400m relay squads place in the top 7 standings as well, and the 4x100m relay team finished second.

Grambling's Hassan Chepkwony finished ninth in the men's 5000m run.

Southern's Desmond Thomas was 10th in the pole vault, clearing 4.55m. 

Texas Southern's Alexis Gray clocked 23.79 seconds in the women's 200m and 11.65 in the 100m, finishing fourth and eighth, respectively, in each event.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Alabama A&M's DeTorrian Green ran the 200m in 21.21 seconds to earn third place at the Southern Miss Invitational.

Tre Williams cleared 13.04m in the triple jump for second place, and Kessy Bell earned fourth in the shot put as well as third in the hammer throw. For the Lady Bulldogs, Autumn Locklin finished sixth in the 800m run, running a shade over 2:31, and Chardon Mucker (11.31m) and Chloe Jenkins (10.59m) were second and third, respectively, in the long jump.

Mississippi Valley's Damone Jackson made a 45.23m-toss in the javelin, taking second. Vacha Vaughn was third. John Akakeya was fifth in the 1500m run.

The Devilettes had a litany of top-5 showings along with a victory in the 4x400m relay race. Omesha Locke finished third in the discus and fifth in the shot put. Terra Edwards was fifth in the long jump, and the 4x100m relay team for MVSU's women claimed second place.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Alabama State took part in the Florida Relays this past weekend, notching impressive results along the way.

Josh Davis clocked a 10.48 in the 100-meter dash, winning his sectional race. Davis was also one of the Hornet foursome that took sixth overall in the 4x400-meter relay race (3:13.29). The quartet won its section with an even faster time of 3:11.34.

Jamie Brown was ninth in the men's long jump. For the Lady Hornets, Kaila Lewis posted an 11.68-second time in the 100-meter dash, winning her sectional. The ASU 4x100-meter women's relay team earned a top 15 showing as well, and the Lady Hornets 4x800-meter relay team claimed ninth place.
