Bowling Recap: January 26-28
PENSECOLA, Fla. – Five Southwestern Athletic Conference Schools competed in the Rattler Invitational hosted by Florida A&M over the weekend in Pensacola, Fla.
Alabama State finished traditional play with the best overall record to earn the top seed going into Sunday. The ASU knocked down 9,002 pins to earn the top seed going into Baker play.
Texas Southern earned the three seed going into Sunday finishing with 8,402 pins knocked down in traditional play.
Southern knocked down 3,841 pins to earn the four seed. Grambling State and Alabama A&M earned the seven and eight seeds, knocking down 3,429 pins and 3,211 respectively.
ASU had the best finish in the event, finishing second. Alabama State fell four games to three in the best of seven championship baker format match with Florida A&M.
Texas Southern had the second highest finish of a SWAC school that participated. TSU finished the event in fourth place. Just behind in fifth place was Southern, for the next highest finish among SWAC schools.
Grambling State and Alabama A&M rounded out the team standings, finishing in seventh and eighth. place respectively.
