Women's Basketball Player of the Week: January 16
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Alabama A&M guard Lauren McKee has been named the Southwestern Athletic Conference's Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her standout performance during games played from Jan. 10-15.

McKee turned in a career performance during Alabama A&M 78-69 road triumph over rival Alabama State on Jan. 13. The sophomore poured in a career-high 27 points, adding five rebounds, four steals and three assists in leading the Lady Bulldogs to their third-straight conference win. McKee was 9-of-16 from the field, including a 3-of-6 mark from downtown and a perfect 6-for-6 line from the charity stripe. In the three games prior, McKee had scored a combined 25 points.
It is the third double-digit scoring effort from the Mobile, Ala. native this season. McKee is averaging 6.0 points, 3.3 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game on the year. She is the first AAMU player to win SWAC Player of the Week honors in more than a year (Jameica Cobb, Nov. 2016).
