BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Grambling State guard Shakyla Hill has been named the Southwestern Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week due to her exceptional performance during games played Dec. 5 -11.

Despite her team's loss at Alabama on Dec. 10, the junior guard flirted with a triple-double. Hill scored a career-high 26 points on 10-of-20 shooting (5-of-6 from the foul line) and hauled in 13 rebounds. She made eight steals and dished out four assists as well.
In the process, Hill crossed the 1,000-point plateau in her collegiate career. The Little Rock, Ark. native ranks in the top 10 of multiple offensive categories in the SWAC, and her 4.86 steals per game is good for second-best in the nation.
