Texas-Rio Grande Valley 78, Prairie View A&M 62

EDINBURG, Texas – The Prairie View A&M women's basketball team fell to Texas Rio Grande Valley 78-62 on Sunday on the concluding day of the Feast of Sharing Tournament at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.

Three Lady Panthers scored in double figures. Jordyn Penniman led the team with 17 points with three assists and one rebound. 

Shala Dobbins posted 16 points, seven assists, six steals and three rebounds, while teammate Talisha Presley totaled 10 points and four assists.

As a team PVAMU shot 72 percent from the charity stripe (16-22).  The Lady Panthers forced 24 turnovers, scoring 13 points.

Hartford 56, Alabama A&M 47

MIAMI – Kanisha Tharpe had the first double-double of the year for Alabama A&M and Nigeria Jones had her second straight double-figure scoring game Sunday but the Lady Bulldogs lost to Hartford 57-46 in the championship game of the Florida International University Thanksgiving Tournament.

Tharpe and Jones were named to the All-Tournament team.

The Lady Bulldogs (3-3) couldn't get on track offensively as they trailed from the outset. A&M shot just 27 percent from the field in the first half, making six of 22 baskets to trail 27-18 at the intermission.

Tharpe scored 11 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for A&M and Jones scored 14 points.
