Mississippi Valley State 76, Prairie View A&M 71
ITTA BENA, MS. – Mississippi Valley State rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to outscore the Panthers 52-39 after the break to earn the home victory at the Harrison HPER Complex on Monday night.
The Delta Devils (3-25, 3-12 SWAC) had four players reach double digits in scoring with Dante Scott (15 points, 10 rebounds), Jordan Evans (14 points, six rebounds), Gemaal Davis (13 points, five rebounds) and Kylan Phillips (10 points) all filling in the stat sheet.
Mississippi Valley State took the lead for good on a dunk by Emmanuel Ejeh that gave them a 58-56 advantage with 7:04 remaining.
The Panthers (11-17, 8-6 SWAC) were led by Gary Blackston (22 points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals), Dennis Jones (18 points, four rebounds, three assists, two steals) and Zachary Hamilton (17 points).
Alabama State 82, Alcorn State 62
MONTGOMERY, ALA — Jacoby Ross led three Alabama State players in double figures as the Hornets ran past Alcorn State, 82-62 in a nationally-televised Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) contest at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome Monday night.
Ross led Alabama State (7-19, 7-7 SWAC) with 19 points and seven rebounds, while also adding six assists in a game seen on ESPNU. The freshman finished the night 7-of-12 from the floor and also hit on two of his three three-point opportunities. Reginald Gee finished with 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor, while also grabbing five rebounds.
Fausto Pichardo chipped in with 14 points and eight rebounds, missing just one shot from the floor; while Terrance LeFlore finished the night with five steals in the win.
Alabama State finished the night shooting 57.6 (34-of-59) percent from the floor and 21.4 (3-of-11) percent from beyond the arc. They also shot 57.9 (11-of-19) percent from the free throw line, grabbing 34 rebounds to outrebound the Braves by four.
A.J. Mosby led Alcorn State (10-18, 6-9 SWAC) with 18 points, while Yalen Reed finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Dante Sterling finished with 11 points and six rebounds in the loss.

Southern 60, Alabama A&M 50
HUNTSVILLE, ALA – The Jaguars led by as many as 16 early in the second half only to see that lead cut to six with 7:05 remaining before Emanuel Shepard and Jared Sam combined to score the next 12 Jaguar points as part of a 12-3 run to help them come away with the road conference win at T.M. Elmore Gym.
Southern (14-14, 10-5 SWAC) were led by Sam’s 20 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks while Shepard contributed with 10 points, four rebounds and three blocks.
The Bulldogs (2-25, 2-12 SWAC) received a game-high 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting to go along with 10 rebounds from Arthur Johnson.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff 62, Texas Southern 61
PINE BLUFF, ARK – Despite trailing by as many as 18 points late in the first half, the Golden Lions rally forces were up to the task as UAPB closed out the half on a 10-0 run to cut the lead to eight by the break and then took their first lead with 37 seconds left on a Hardy Quamari layup.
The Tigers had one last look at the basket but a misfired 3-pointer with one second left was it as UAPB swept the season series with Texas Southern.
Martaveous McKnight had 16 points with six assists, four rebounds, three steals and a block and Terrance Banyard added 16 points, seven rebounds and three blocks to lead the Golden Lions (10-19, 10-5 SWAC).
Texas Southern (8-19, 8-6 SWAC) was led by Demontrae Jefferson, who scored 25 points on 9-of-11 shooting with six rebounds and four assists. Donte Clark had 14 points and nine rebounds.
