Alabama State 12, Alcorn State 0
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Alabama State freshman Gage Dollar threw his first career no-hitter at any level, helping the Hornets finish off a sweep of Alcorn State with a 12-0 run-rule victory in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play Sunday afternoon.
Dollar (1-1) finished the day, his second collegiate start, with a seven-inning complete game effort. He allowed just two walks and hit another batter, with only four Alcorn State hitters reaching base.
Alabama State (8-4, 3-0 SWAC) started the scoring early in support of Dollar with a pair of runs in the first inning after Hunter Allen drew a bases-loaded walk for the first of two RBIs on the day for the senior catcher, giving Alabama State a 1-0 lead. The lead grew to 2-0 when Ray Hernandez drove in Joseph Estrada for the first of his two RBIs on the day with a sacrifice fly to center.
The Hornets added three more in the third when Hernandez singled through the left side to drive in Estrada for the 3-0 lead. The lead grew to 5-0 when the very next batter, Yamil Pagan hit the first of two doubles down the left field line to score Hernandez and Gustavo Rios.
The score stayed that way until the sixth when Alabama State erupted for six runs in the inning highlighted by a solo home run from Rios to left – his first of the season – and another double from Pagan. The Hornets added another run in the sixth before Dollar closed the door in the seventh and finished off the no-hitter.
Noel Cheneau and Yamil Pagan finished with a pair of hits each, while Pagan finished with three runs batted in and Cheneau a pair. Allen, Hernandez and Cristopher DeGuzman each finished with a pair of RBI on the day.

Jackson State 11, Alabama A&M 0
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Tigers secured game three as they held the Bulldogs scoreless, 11-0, in seven innings.
Both teams were held scoreless in the first inning before a RBI double in the top of the second would give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.
In the top of the third, Jackson State added eight runs off a 2 RBI homer, a triple and three singles.
Leading 9-0, JSU added two insurance runs after executing two sacrifice flies in the top of the fourth to take the three-game series.
The Bulldogs look to bounce back this weekend against Alabama State. The series opens Friday night at 2 p.m. at Bulldog Field.

Arkansas Pine Bluff 6 Southern 5
PING BLUFF, Ark. – Arkansas Pine Bluff defeated UAPB in a come from behind effort to take the series two games to one.
Southern took the lead in the second. The Jaguars scored four runs to make the score 4-0 early on.
SUBR added a run in the fourth, to take a five run advantage in the contest.
UAPB started to get back in the game in the innings that followed. The Golden Lions scored two runs in the seventh to close the gap to just a three run deficit. UAPB then scored three in the eighth to make the score 5-5.
In the ninth inning, Arkansas Pine Bluff won the game on a wild pitch with to give the Golden Lions the walk-off victory.
Kansas 7, Texas Southern 1
LAWERANCE, Kan. – Texas Southern fell 7-1 in the series finale on Sunday to Kansas in Lawrence.
Texas Southern took the early lead, when Gaudencio Lucca scored on a wild pitch to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.
Kansas took control of the game from that point. The Jayhawks scored three runs in the second to take a 3-1lead.
Kansas added three more runs in the fourth, to make the score 6-1.
Texas Southern was not able to comeback, ultimately falling by a score of 7-1.
TXSO struggled to generate offense totaling just five hits in the loss.
