McNeese 10 Prairie View &AM 6

LAKE CHARLES, La. – Prairie View dropped the second game of its three game series, 10-6 to McNeese on Saturday.

The Panthers fell behind early.  McNeese led 3-0 after the second inning.  Adding seven more over the next two innings, to trail 10—0.

Prairie View A&M started to make a comeback in the sixth.  The Panthers scored three runs in the inning, including two talks with the bases loaded, one by way of a fielding error, to make the score 10-4.

The Panthers added two runs in the seventh.  Ezekiel Bear hit an RBI triple to drive in a run.  Bear later scored on a ground out by Steven Williams.= to make the score 10-5.

Xavier Jefferson added a sacrifice fly in the eighth, but the comeback effort fell short as the Panthers fell 10-6.

Bar was 3 for 4 with one RBI and two runs scored in the loss.

Mercer 19 Alcorn State 1

MACON, Ga. – The Alcorn State University baseball program finished its regular season Saturday with a 19-1 series finale loss to Mercer at OrthoGeorgia Park at Claude Smith Field.

The Braves finish the regular season with a record of 12-37 overall. With the win, the Bears improved to 34-18.
Brandon Barna brought in Alcorn's lone run and finished 1-for-3 at the plate. Brendly Martina and Kyle Jenkins both batted 1-for-2, while A.J. Makarewicz went 1-for-3 with a run scored and Devin Walden also hit 1-for-3.
George Osborne (0-7) took the loss after giving up seven runs on as many hits and three walks. He faced 15 batters across 1.1 innings with one strike out. Razedrick WintersJoe Smith, and Brandon Thomas all made appearances in relief.
Mercer started off quick with four runs on as many hits in the bottom of the first. The home team then added three runs in the second and three more in the third to build a 10-0 advantage.
Alcorn scored it lone run in the fourth. Makarewicz led off with a single through the left side and Jenkins followed with a single to right. The senior from Orlando, Fla. then moved to third on a fly out to ri.ght and scored on Barna's hit through the left side of the defense. The Orange and Black plated three more in the fifth and six runs in the sixth for the final score.
