Southern Names Kerrick Jackson Head Baseball Coach
BATON ROUGE, La. - Southern University Director of Athletics Roman Banks announced the hiring of Kerrick Jackson as the Jaguars new head baseball coach on Tuesday.
Jackson comes to Southern after being a professional sports agent for the past two seasons. Prior to that, Jackson was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Missouri. During his time at Missouri, Jackson helped lead the Tigers to a Big 12 tournament title in 2012.
Prior to Missouri, Jackson spent three years in the scouting department of the Washington Nationals organization. Prior to his stop in the nation’s capital, Jackson spent time coaching at Nicholls State.
Jackson will be the successor of Roger Cador, who was Southern's head baseball coach for the past 32 seasons. Cador retired from coaching at the end of the 2017 season.
