Alabama State 3, Texas Southern 2 (24-26,21-25,25-19,25-22,15-10)  

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Ni'yesha Brown put away 24 kills as Alabama State (21-9, 14-0 SWAC) came back from a 0-2 set deficit to defeat Texas Southern (13-9, 11-4) in a five-set affair during the final day of the SWAC Volleyball Roundup at Alabama State University inside Lockhart Gymnasium.

For the Lady Hornets -- who have now won 35 straight conference matches -- Bayle' Bennett put up 15 kills, 11 digs and four blocks. Briana Dorsey scored 14 kills at a .476 attack percentage. Payten Clark chipped in seven kills and five blocks. Kori Kutsch recorded 28 assists and eight digs, and Justus Tuiolosega added 21 assists and 12 digs. Kayla Torres and Asha Daniels collected 10 digs each.

Texas Southern's win streak was halted at eight due to the loss. The Lady Tigers had four players with at least 10 kills, led by Kirby Anderson's 15 on a .385 hitting clip. Anderson also made four blocks. Cassidy Jannson spiked 14 kills and added six digs. Nicole Robinson and Alexis Austin made 11 kills each. Nia Stone made nine kills as well.

Asia Howard put up 27 assists and eight digs, and Alyssa Chuidian added 22 helpers and six digs. Erin Adams led all players with 19 digs.

Alabama State can clinch the conference regular season crown and the No. 1 overall seed in the SWAC Volleyball Tournament with a win and an Alabama A&M loss.

Prairie View A&M 3, Alcorn State 0 (25-11,25-16,25-8)  

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Prairie View A&M (4-17, 4-10) snapped an 11-game skid with a straight set win over Alcorn State (3-35, 0-14 SWAC) during the final day of the SWAC Volleyball Roundup at Alabama State University.

Larissa Martinez led Prairie View with nine kills on a .533 attack percentage. Victoria Pearson and Mariah Thomas notched five kills apiece. Mykaeli Franklin and Erica Jimenez put up 11 assists each, and Christen Augustine led the Lady Panthers with 18 digs.

Mae Lewis posted four kills for Alcorn. Pai Iosia chipped in 12 digs for the Lady Braves, who struggled to the tune of a -.071 hitting percentage in the loss.

Jackson State 3, Southern 2 (25-16,23-25,18-25,26-24,15-8)

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Behind a 19-kill effort from Camry Dabney, Jackson State (6-23, 5-9 SWAC) outlasted Southern (6-17, 6-7 SWAC) on the last day of the SWAC Volleyball Roundup hosted at Alabama State University.

Alexandra Burney posted 18 digs and made 13 kills. Amanda Modesto led Jackson State with 19 digs and put down nine kills. Marina Brito figured in all over the stat sheet with seven kills, six digs, four blocks and two service aces. Terri Irving put up 36 assists and seven digs, and Sapphire Simpson added 20 assists and seven digs.

Shelby Jolly led Southern with 13 kills and five blocks. Brianna Hawkins recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs. Arabella Hall accounted for 10 kills, six blocks, two service aces and two digs. Vaterra Calais (20) and Princess Stark (18) combined for 38 assists, and Bailey Jefferson collected 15 digs.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff 3, Alabama A&M 1 (25-16,25-17,22-25,25-17)

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Lisa Casimie dealt 14 kills and four blocks, and Kendalle Howard notched 12 kills and 14 digs to lead Arkansas-Pine Bluff (9-17, 8-5 SWAC) to a four-set win over Alabama A&M (11-17, 11-3 SWAC) on the final day of the Alabama State University-hosted SWAC Volleyball Roundup at Lockhart Gymnasium.

UAPB's Taylor Burrall put up six blocks and five digs. Britney Sahlmann recorded 33 assists, seven digs and five kills. Taylor Sheppy notched eight kills for the Lady Lions. As a team, UAPB outhit AAMU .236 - .060.

Terra Brooks led Alabama A&M with 14 kills and 12 digs. Syretha Pride allotted eight kills and four blocks. Courtney Oliver put down nine kills. Meredith Sieck delivered 39 assists and added nine digs. Helena Figueiredo led the defensive effort with 15 digs, and Riley Balsmeyer added 14.

Grambling State 3, Mississippi Valley 2 (18-25,25-13,17-25,25-12,15-11) 

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Grambling State rallied for a 3-2 victory over Mississippi Valley State to conclude the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Round-up, hosted by Alabama State University at Lockhart Gymnasium.

The Lady Tigers (12-18 overall, 6-6 SWAC) dropped the opening set, 25-18, but bounced back with a 25-13 win in the second set. The Devilettes grabbed a 2-1 advantage with a 25-17 third-set victory, but again the Lady Tigers battled back and won the fourth set, 25-12. Grambling State took the match with a 15-11.

Kevreion Ward paced the Grambling State offense with 15 kills and six digs. Chasity Nicks added 12 kills and 16 digs. L’Muriell Thrower and Diemend Richardson finished with 24 and 21 assists, respectively. Defensively, Erineka Mollere led the way with 28 digs, while Kiara Freeman tallied 10.

Kalin Barnes led the way for Mississippi Valley State (6-23, 4-10) with 11 kills and 15 digs. Jaime Polk registered 24 assists, while Brianna Watkins added 11. Jessica Bell paced the defense with 30 digs, and Taylor Selfridge chipped in with 18 to go with six kills and four blocks.
