Northwestern State 3, Alcorn State 0 (25-13, 25-9, 25-11)

NATCHITOCHES, La. - Alcorn State (2-23) fell in straight sets to Northwestern State during a Thursday afternoon road match.

It was a quiet outing offensively, as the Lady Braves only managed 12 kills -- compared to 20 attack errors. Daharri Thompkins and Omone Davies led Alcorn with three kills apiece. Fiapaipai Iosia posted 11 digs, and Jasmine Chambers added seven assists.

Joeli Warren-Smith added two blocks.

The Lady Braves and Lady Demons battled closely in the initial stages of set one, but after forcing a 5-5 tie, Northwestern State began to pull away as a 10-3 run fueled the Lady Demons to a 1-0 advantage in the match.

The allowance of a 7-2 start to Northwestern State hampered Alcorn's effort in set two, and NSU cruised from there. Alcorn was outhit .368 -.121 in the contest.
