GRAMBLING, La. - Grambling State pounded out a combined 28 runs on 17 hits during a Tuesday afternoon sweep of Texas College. The Lady Tigers prevailed in abbreviated affairs, winning game one 11-3 and taking game two 17-3.

GAME 1
Down 2-0 after one, Grambling State (3-6) took advantage of sloppy defensive play from Texas College to fuel a three-run second inning. During a frame where the visitors committed four errors, Morgan Adams sparked the rally with a leadoff single and later scored when Monique Smith reached on a field error. Two more runs came home when Hailey Haynes reached safely after a misfired throw from first, allowing Adams and Allye Hartley to score.

After a 1-2-3 inning for GSU starter Caitlin McDowell, Grambling quickly loaded the bags in the third and Smith delivered a RBI single to score Tia Coleman, who reached via error. Versace Hicks-Butler and Tiffany Doss followed with back-to-back RBI singles, and Hicks-Butler touched up home plate after an errant throw by the Texas College catcher.
