South Florida 1, Howard 0

WASHINGTON, D. C. – The Howard Lady Bison were narrowly edged by South Florida, 1-0 on Friday evening in the nation’s capital.

The Lady Bison kept the game scoreless for a good portion of the first half.  USF got on the board in the 28th minute, when Evelyne Viens scored to make the score 1-0. 

The Lady Bison was unable to answer the rest of the way, totaling nine shots in the contest, three of which came in the first half and six coming in the second.

Gabrielle Emilien paced Howard with three shots while goalkeeper Jordan Bynoe made ten stops.


St. Thomas (Texas) 2, Prairie View A&M 0

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers fell 2-0 to St. Thomas (Texas) on Friday, despite outshooting St. Thomas 14-12.

St. Thomas for the opening goal of the match early.  Just eight minutes in, Katarina Maksimov scored to make the score 1-0.

The Lady Panthers kept its deficit to just one at the conclusion of the first half.

St. Thomas scored its second goal of the match just 59 seconds into the second half.  Chelsea York scored on a penalty kick to make the score 2-0.

The Lady Panthers could not find a way to cut into its deficit in this night, leading to the loss,

Blaire Lane had five shots to lead the Lady Panthers and goalkeeper Clarissa Ledesma made eight saves.


UAB 3, Mississippi Valley State 0

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Mississippi Valley State Devilettes fell 3-0 to UAB on Friday to drop to 1-6 on the season.

UAB got on the board in the sixth minute.  Amy Brewer scored to give the Blazers the 1-0 lead, which was the score at the end of the first half.

UAB added two goals in the second half.  The Devilettes could not mount a comeback, leading to the shutout loss.

Sheyenna Bonnick led the Devilettes with three shots and goalkeepet Rite Gyasi made eight saves in the defeat.
