• Alcorn State running back De’Lance Turner currently leads all of FCS football players with 788 rushing yards. He is followed by Josh Mack (Maine) with 772 yards, Malcolm Summers (Elon) with 755 yards, Daniel Smith (Campbell) with 703 yards and Marquell Cartwright (North Carolina A&T) with 698 yards to round out the top five individual rushers in FCS.

• The conference’s top two quarterbacks in regards to passing yardage and passing efficiency will meet this week when Alcorn State travels to take on Grambling State. Braves quarter Lenorris Footman ranks first in passing yardage with 210.3 yards per contest while Grambling State quarterback Devante Kincade ranks second with 194.0 passing yards per game. Kincade is first in passing efficiency with a 140.4 passer rater efficiency while Footman is close behind with a 140.0 passer rating efficiency.

• Grambling State senior linebacker De’Arius Christmas ranks tied for ninth in the FCS with 10.5 tackles for a loss.

• Both Alcorn State and Grambling enter with four-game winning streaks and are undefeated in conference play.

• Mississippi Valley State returns home to Itta Bena, Miss. for their homecoming game against Virginia Lynchburg. Delta Devils wide receiver Quinn McElfresh leads the conference in receptions per game with 5.8 per contest.

• Southern senior defensive end Aaron Tiller ranks tied for ninth in FCS football with six sacks. He also ranks tied for fifth in tackles for a loss with 11.5.

• Southern has defeated Jackson State in three consecutive head-to-head meetings with the Tigers last winning 19-14 in 2013 at Southern.
