Alabama State Runners Earn Week 5 Honors

Alabama State Runners Kesia Derilus and Vincent Butler earned the Southwestern Athletic Conference men's and women's Runner of the Week for week five.
Derilus claims her third consecutive Runner of the week honor after placing ninth at the Gulf Coast Stampede (Pensacola, Fla.). The senior completed the 5k race with a time of 18:55.10. She was the first ASU runner to cross the finish line, leading the Lady Hornets to a second place finish.
Junior Vincent Butler finished the 8k with a time of 30:05.50; scoring 47 points, individually, and leading the Hornets to a 10 th place finish in Pensacola.
