Hornets Repeat with Consecutive Weekly Honors

Sylvester Byrd closes out regular season competition with Runner of the Week honors following his performance at the Coach "O" Invitational. Byrd ran in three events, including the 100m dash. He ran a team season-best and set a personal record with his time of 10.67, finishing sixth in that event. He also set a personal best in the 200m dash and finished in seventh place with a time of 21.61. Byrd rounded out the meet running the third leg of the 4x100 relay, helping the Hornets to second place finish and a season-best time of 41.54.

Junior Lee Thrasher earns Field Athlete of the Week after competing in two events at the Coach "O" Invitational and recording two top ten finishes. He placed sixth in the hammer throw, setting a season team-best and personal record with his throw of 44.91m. Thrasher finished fourth in the discus throw, recording another season and personal-best with a throw of 43.64m.
