Women's Week Five Recap
The Alabama A&M women headed to Normal, Alabama over the weekend to compete in the Boston Moon Relays hosted by Tennessee State Univeristy.
Shaquina Phalo placed second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:15.00. Marquia Humphrey finished fourth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.48, while Raven Dove posted a 1:09.00 time in the 400 meter hurdles for a fourth place finish.
Marion Epperson was the lone Lady Bulldog to secure a first place spot with her 40.12 meter throw in the discus. She also placed fifth in the javelin throw with a distance of 29.74 meters.
The Alcorn State women also had a strong weekend in Starkville, Mississippi as they competed in the Jace Lacoste Invitational.
Takeisha Jenkins finished the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.82, keeping up her personal best. Sophomore Jessica Jelks also performed consistently with a 57.19 time in the 400m dash. Freshman Brandy Guilbeau ran a personal best of 25.43 in the 200m dash, ranking her among the SWAC's top performers.

The Prairie View A&M women's team traveled to Austin to compete int he Texas Invitational, where they had an impressive weekend as well.
Junior Charmaine Tomlinson won the javelin throw and recorded a personal-best mark in the pole vault. Tomlinson recorded each of six attempts in the event to post a season-best mark of 119-10 and capture the win. Tomlinson also competed in the pole vault and jumped a personal-best height of 8-5 in the event.
Junior Myesha Dixon had a solid weekend all-around as she finished third behind Tomlinson in the javelin, and seventh in the 100-meter hurdles. Sophomore Sylvonna Thompson placed seventh in the 400 hurdles, while the 4x100-meter relay team ran its second-fastest time (49.06) of the outdoor season.
Senior Corinna Brown finished with a season-high mark of 18-10 to place fourth in the long jump. Brown also earned a seventh-place showing in the high jump after accumulating a height of 5-0.
The Panthers throwers rounded out the invitational with freshman Remo Allyssa posting a personal and PV season-best mark of 41-3 in the shot put, while junior Brittany Early finished sixth in the hammer with a PV personal and season-best throw of 146-03. Earl also finished sixth in the javelin after throwing 84-04.
Rose Sampson threw a career-best length of 123-07 in the discus, followed by a personal high from Ashley Parker (119-10).
