Hornets' Rolle and Chambers Earn Weekly Honors
Runner of the Week Tia Rolle and the Alabama State Hornets competed in the War Eagle Invitatioanl hosted by Auburn last weekend, where she competed in three events and nabbed three top-ten finishes. Rolle ran the second leg of the 4x100 relay and helped guide the Hornets to a third place finish in the even (45.97). Individually, the senior ran both team and season highs in the 100m (11.81) and 200m (23.85) events, earning a pair of sixth place finishes in both races.
Tyrisha Chambers, who is Field Athlete of the Week, competed in two events at the War Eagle Invitational, including her first high jump of the season. Chambers finished eighth in the event with 1.60m jump (5'-03.00). She also finished twelfth in the javelin throw with a toss of 35.17m (115'-05).
