Birmingham, Ala. - Alabama State will face Texas-San Antonio on Wednesday in the First Four round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament in Dayton, Ohio. The winner of that game becomes the #16 seed in the East Region and will face #1 seeded Ohio State in Cleveland on Friday. Tipoff is set for 5:30 pm Central. All First Four games on Tuesday and Wednesday will be carried live on Tru TV.
The Hornets (17-17) are making their fourth overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament and the first since 2009. Alabama State rolled through the SWAC Tournament defeating Grambling on Saturday night to earn the league's automatic berth into the national tournament. ASU has won 11 of its last 12 games.
The Roadrunners (19-13) are also making their fourth overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament and the first since the 2004 championship. UTSA won the Southland Conference title over McNeese State.
