SWAC BASEBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (Games of Feb. 24-March 2)

PLAYER

RF LaDale Hayes, Alabama A&M; 6-2, 195, SR; Stafford, VA

Hayes hit .550 with 10 runs scored and 11 RBI in six games last weekend (a pair of DHs vs. Kentucky State, 1 DH vs. Miles). Hayes had four extra bases hits last week (one double, three triples) in batting 11-of-20 and had three-multiple RBI games while hitting safely in all six games.

PITCHER

P Bryan Smith, Texas Southern; 5-10, 180, JR; Houston, TX

Smith pitched seven strong innings in helping TSU down Jackson State last week. He allowed two runs on five hits, walking one and striking out seven.
