ALEXANDRIA, LA - Sophomore Kersten Vanem (Estonia) and freshman Keti MeBuke (Georgia, Europe) swept top honors for Alcorn State as the 2012 All-SWAC teams were announced. Vanem captured Player of the Year, while MeBuke claimed Freshman of the Year.

Vanem had a 7-1 record at No. 1 singles for the Lady Braves at the two SWAC round-ups. Meanwhile, MeBuke, playing at No. 2 singles, not only had the best record among the freshmen, but the best overall mark of 8-0.

With the exception of Player of the Year which is voted on by league coaches, members of the All-SWAC team are decided by their conference records during the regular season or two round-ups. For consideration, a women's player must play at least five matches at a particular position, while men must play in at least four. First team selections are the top player/duo at a particular position while the second-team selections are the second highest rated player/duo.
