2011 SWAC Men's Golf Championship -- Day 1 Results Get Acrobat Reader

Alexandria, La. - Clay Myers, defending individual SWAC champion Jonathan Coleman, and Justin Sells all broke par on  the opening day of the 2011 SWAC Men's Golf Championship, held at Links on the Bayou Golf Course. Myers carded a 6-under 66 and leads the field by four shots despite bogeying two of his first three holes on the front nine.  Coleman, who played last season for Grambling before the Tigers dropped their men's golf program, and Stills shot 70 and 71, respectively.  As a team, JSU is 17 shots ahead of Alabama State with a 281 team total. The Hornets shot 298.

Anthony Dadamo played even-par from the number three slot in the Hornet lineup to help keep his team within striking distance with 36 holes remaining to play. John Montgomery and Corey Price also paced the Hornets with 73 and 75, respectively.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff's Gregory Robinson is also in the individual hunt after an even-par 72 on the opening day of competition.  Alabama A&M's William Miller and Prairie View A&M's Michael Bradham sit at 73, just three shots out of second place as well.
