BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The final SWAC women's soccer weekly awards have been announced. Texas Southern junior Angelica Belford earned SWAC Player of the Week honors and Arkansas-Pine Bluff junior Erika Forbes was tabbed SWAC Defensive Player of the Week. Jackson State senior Allison Lane was named SWAC Goalkeeper of the Week.
Belford (F, 5-11, Jr., Killeen, Texas) finished with 11 points (four goals, three assists) in a 3-0 week for Texas Southern. She had a hat-trick with three goals in a conference win over Prairie View A&M and added two assists in a win over Houston-Victoria.
Forbes (D, 5-5, Jr., Whitby, Ontario) led the Lady Lions defensively as Arkansas-Pine Bluff finished 2-0 last week. Offensively, Forbes had one of the best performances of her career scoring four goals from the back line against Alcorn State.
Lane (GK, 5-7, Sr., Marlton, N.J.) earned two wins and two shutouts in a 2-0 week for Jackson State. The Lady Tigers defeated Alabama State and Alabama A&M, sealing a perfect 4-0-0 record in conference play.

Yosselyn Aguilar (F, Prairie View A&M) - Led the team with two goals against Texas Southern
Saycha Mitchell (M, Texas Southern) - Had two goals and one assist in three games for the Lady Tigers
Brittany Renner (D, Jackson State) - Helped Jackson State to two shutouts last week
Monica Diaz (D, Prairie View A&M) - Was a big contributor defensively; had big clearances for PVAMU
Tiana Bateau (D, Grambling State) - Led the Grambling State defense in a win over Mississippi Valley State
Erika Vasquez (GK, Texas Southern) - Recorded a shutout versus Alcorn; made 12 saves in three games
Bre-Ann Laypoole (GK, Arkansas-Pine Bluff) - Finished with two wins and a shutout last week
Melissa Aguayo (GK, Praire View A&M) - Made eight saves vs. Texas Southern
