MBB: McKnight named SWAC Player of the Week
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) has recognized Arkansas Pine Bluff’s Martaveous McKnight as the SWAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his outstanding performance during week 11 of the regular season.
This is the third time that McKnight has captured this award this season.

McKnight hit two game-winners over the weekend, one against Prairie View A&M and one against Texas Southern to snap a 27-game home win streak held by the Tigers.
UAPB is now all alone in first place with a 7-0 conference record, its best start in head coach George Ivory’s 10-year tenure.
The junior guard shot 13-of-20 from the floor including 3-of-6 from 3-point range and 10-of-11 from the free throw line for score 39 points in the win against Prairie View A&M this past Saturday. McKnight added six rebounds, five assists, three steals and a block.
On Monday, he finished with 14 points, three rebounds, four assists and one steal in the win against Texas Southern.
For the week, he averaged 26.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, two steals and 0.5 block per game in the in two victories.
McKnight leads all conference scorers in SWAC games only with 24.4 points per contest and is ranked eighth in field goal percentage (.482), second in assists (5.3 per game), first in steals (2.9 per game), first in 3-point percentage (.500), first in 3-pointers made (2.7 per game) and first in assist to turnover ratio (2.5 to 1) and sixth in defensive rebounds (4.4 per game).
