SWAC Men's Golf Championship Recap: Day 2

ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Prairie View A&M Panthers lead the SWAC men’s golf championship after two rounds with a two day total of seven over par 583. 

Alabama State currently sits in second place, trailing the Panthers by 31 shots going into the final day of the championship.  The Hornets are currently +38 for the championship, with a two day total of 614.

Texas Southern is currently in third at +45.  Alcorn State sits in fourth at +57 for the tournament, while Arkansas Pine Bluff rounds out the team standings at +120.

Overnight leader Laurence Crea of Prairie View A&M followed his opening round 67 with a second round 76, to have a three shot lead heading to the final round of the championship. 

Teammate John Jones sits in second place, with a second round 73 and is currently +2 for the championship. 

Zane Brooks and David Baker, also of Prairie View A&M are in a tie for third place, and has a two day total of 146 (+3) for the tournament. 

Alexander Belanger and Mbongeni Maphosa, both of Alabama State are at +8 for the tournament and round the top five after day two.

The final round of the 2018 SWAC Golf championship will get underway at 8 a.m. Wednesday.
