Women's Basketball Player of the Week: March 4
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Grambling State junior guard Shakyla Hill has been named the Southwestern Athletic Conference’s Women’s Basketball Player of the Week after her exceptional performances during the final week of the regular season.

Hill averaged a double-double for the two games of 32.0 points and 11.0 rebounds as the Lady Tigers went 1-1. She also averaged 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals. She shot 53.7 percent (22-of-41) from the floor and 81.0 percent (17-of-21) from the free-throw line. Hill notched a career-high of 35 points along with 12 boards in a loss to Alabama A&M. Her previous scoring high was 26 points against Alabama and Prairie View A&M.
Hill followed this performance with a 29-point, 10-rebound effort during a 73-52 win over Alabama State. For Hill, this is her fourth player of the week honor of the season. She ranks in top five among conference players in five categories: scoring (16.3 PPG; 4th), rebounding (7.3 RPG; 3rd), assists (5.6 APG; 1st), steals (4.7 SPG; 1st) and field-goal percentage (46.7%; 5th) and minutes player (36.1 MPG; 4th).
