CONFERENCE NEWS & NOTES

- Grambling State (10-12 overall, 6-3 SWAC) defeated the only two previously unbeaten teams in the SWAC (Jackson State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff) and has won its last
six conference games, a feat that last occurred in the 2005-2006 season.

- Perfect at the stripe: Four SWAC players have been perfect at the free throw line this season with at least 11 attempts in a single game, but it was done twice just this past weekend as Texas Southern’s Donte Clark (11-for-11 at Alabama State this past Monday) and Prairie View A&M’s Gary Blackston (11-for-11 at Alabama A&M this past Monday) were both able to accompish the feat.

- Getting to the line: Texas Southern got to the free throw line against Alabama State this past Monday to make the most free throws (36) and had the most attempted (48) by a SWAC team in a single team this season.

-Winning more comfortably: Arkansas Pine-Bluff holds the best scoring margin of victory (+7.2 points) followed closely by Texas Southern (+6.2 points).

- Get the board! Southern holds the best rebounding margin (+6.0) while Texas Southern ranks second in the category (+5.9)

- Living by the 3-ball: Jackson State is making the most 3-pointers per game (8.4) and holds the third best percentage (.364) from downtown among conference teams.
