- Golden Roar: Arkansas-Pine Bluff kept its undefeated conference record in tact by adding two more road victories to their total. The Golden Lions topped Prairie View A&M on Saturday behind Martaveous McKnight’s 39 points and then handed Texas Southern their first home loss in 27 games dating back to February of 2015 as McKnight made a tying 3-pointer and then made winning free throws in the closing seconds this past Monday.

- Home cookin’ : Arkansas-Pine Bluff will now open a four-game homestand and will finish the season with seven of the last 11 games at the H.O. Clemmons Arena. To this point in the season, the Golden Lions have played just twice at home.

- Locked down: Grambling State held Jackson State to a tie for its lowest point total of the season (45) this past Saturday. Jackson State last scored 45 points in a game on Nov. 20 at Maryland.

- Home, sweet home: Southern is 7-1 in home games this season at the F.G. Clark Activity Center while just 1-12 on the road. Jackson State is 6-1 at the Lee. E. Williams Assembly Center and 2-9 away from home. Texas Southern is 4-1 at the H&PE Arena, and 0-15 on the road.

- Scoring machine: Texas Southern’s Donte’ Clark poured in 41 points in a victory against Mississippi Valley State this past Saturday to tie the Delta Devils Jordan Evans for the most points scored by a SWAC player in a single game this season.
