Tulsa 87, Arkansas-Pine Bluff 37

TULSA, Okla. - Arkansas-Pine Bluff lost at Tulsa 87-37 Tuesday night at the Donald W. Reynolds Center, falling to 2-5 on the season.

The Lady Lions struggled offensively, shooting just 24 percent from the field (12-of-50) and going 0-for-11 from long range. Faith Ohanta led UAPB with eight points and four rebounds. Shawntayla Harris and Trasity Totten each scored six points, with Harris swatting three shots and making two steals.

Crystal Polk led the Golden Hurricane with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Alexis Gaulden knocked down five treys, scoring 15 points. Erica Wakefield and Morgan Brady added 12 points apiece, and Tatyana Perez chipped in 11 points.

UAPB allowed Tulsa to score the game's first seven points as the Lady Lions faced a 13-4 deficit early on. In the second quarter, UAPB showed life, as baskets by No'ell Taylor and Ohanta brought the score to 20-18 in favor of the Golden Hurricane. However, Tulsa closed the half on an 18-3 run, and stayed ahead thanks to a 50 percent field goal clip in the second half, compared to UAPB's 20 percent shooting.
