Grambling State 111, Tougaloo College 95

Grambling, La. – Ivy Smith Jr. made 16-of-17 free throws on his way to a career-high 31-point performance with 13 assists, six rebounds, four steals and a block as the guard was one of five Tigers to finish with double digits in points on the way to a nonconference victory at the Hodby Assembly Center on Monday night.

 

Axel Mpoyo scored 19 points, pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds and added two steals and two blocks.  Drake Wilks scored 21 points off the bench, while Diontae Jones and Anthony Gaston each had 14 points for the Tigers (3-5). 

 

Grambling State shot 55 percent from the field as a team and enjoyed a 13-point by halftime. 

 

Tonzell Handy had 26 points and nine rebounds to lead Tougaloo (6-2).
