MBB: Jefferson named SWAC Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) has recognized Texas Southern guard Demontrae Jefferson as the SWAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his outstanding performance during week one of the regular season.

Jefferson averaged 21 points per game to go along with 3.5 assists, and one steal as the Tigers fell to Gonzaga and Washington State on the road to open the season. He also shot a combined 7-of-14 from 3-point range in the two games. 

The sophomore guard scored 22 points with six assists with two steals at Washington State on Sunday.
