BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –  The Southwestern Athletic Conference released its winter schedule for live streaming coverage on the SWAC Digital Network on Sunday.

SDN’s coverage tips off in week three of the conference basketball season as the defending SWAC champions on both the women’s and men’s divisions in Texas Southern travels to take on upstart Grambling State on January 15, 2018.

For the women’s match up, it is a rematch of the 2016 Toyota SWAC Women’s Basketball Championship where it saw Texas Southern win their first women’s basketball title, a four-point victory against Grambling State, who went on to clinch a WNIT berth and upset Ole Miss in a first-round match up.

On the men’s side, it is a rematch of one of the men’s basketball tournament semifinals where Texas Southern held off Grambling State for a five-point victory and went on to win the title for the third time in the previous four seasons.

Next, SDN heads to Montgomery, Ala. as Prairie View A&M will visit Alabama State on their refinished basketball court at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome for a West takes on East affair.

The new-look Lady Panthers will take on a Lady Hornets team seeking to reload after winning two of the previous three championships.

Both men’s squads will have plenty of fresh faces as both teams seek to retool in rekindling this rivalry.

In week six of the conference season, it will a classic rivalry involving teams from the state of Mississippi as Alcorn State takes the short drive over to Jackson State to take on the Tigers on February 3.

Preseason Defensive Player of the Year Alexus Freeman and the Lady Braves eye another vault up the standings, but Derica Wiggins and the Lady Tigers have other ideas.  On the men’s side, Preseason Player of the Year Reginal Johnson will look to lead the Braves to another title game while All-Conference First Team selection Paris Collins and the Tigers aspire to take the next step this season.

The last SDN live stream is scheduled for February 10 as Arkansas-Pine Bluff heads south to challenge Southern from Baton Rouge, La.  All-Conference Second Team selection Shawntayla Harris and a veteran Lady Lions squad will take on a Lady Jaguars team led by First Teamer Brianna Green.  In the men’s match up, Trent Steen and the Golden Lions tip off with All-Conference First Team selection Jared Sam and the Jaguars.

Games will be shown on SWAC.org under the video player in the right corner of the computer screen.

All games set to be shown are listed below, and more games may potentially be added as the season progresses.
