Southern 3, Grambling State 2 (25-22,23-25,25-18,22-25,15-6)
GRAMBLING, La. - Despite 22 kills by Grambling's Kevreion Ward, Southern outlasted the Lady Tigers in a five-set affair in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) match at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.
The Lady Jaguars (8-17 overall, 7-9 SWAC) were led by Shelby Jolly with 16 kills, while Vaterra Calais and Princess Stark recorded 22 and 16 assists, respectively. Bailey Jefferson registered a match-high 25 digs and Mariah Clayton added 13 digs. Arabella Hall had eight kills and was in on nine blocks.
Ward added seven digs for Grambling (15-21, 8-8). Tess Reynolds and Chasity Nicks each recorded 10 kills, while Nicks added 10 digs for the double-double. Diemend Richardson tallied 25 assists, while L’Muriell Thrower chipped in with 21. Defensively, Erineka Mollere registered 23 digs.
There were 26 ties, including 12 in the fourth set, and 12 lead changes, with seven coming in the fourth set.

Alabama A&M 3, Jackson State 1 (25-17,21-25,25-19,25-17)
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Three Alabama A&M (14-18, 14-4 SWAC) players notched at least 10 kills in a four-set win over Jackson State (7-24, 6-10) Sunday afternoon at the T.M. Elmore Gymnasium.
Courtney Oliver and Terra Brooks made 12 kills each for the Lady Bulldogs, who were without Syretha Pride in this match. Brooks notched 12 digs for a double-double. Meredith Sieck posted 40 assists and 12 digs, and Mikel Coleman put down 10 kills. Jaelin Gant contributed nine kills and nine digs, and Cierra Davis led all AAMU players with 14 digs.
Madison Wolf paced JSU with 10 kills, and Alexandra Burney added nine kills. Sapphire Simpson put up 15 assists and 13 digs, and Terri Irving added 12 helpers. Taylor Jackson led the Lady Tigers with 15 digs.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff 3, Texas Southern 0 (25-12,25-17,25-23)
PINE BLUFF, Ark. - Arkansas-Pine Bluff (10-19, 9-7 SWAC) remained in the hunt for the No. 3 seed in the SWAC Volleyball Tournament by sweeping Texas Southern (14-12, 11-7) Sunday evening at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.
Three UAPB players hit at above .400 on the day, with Lisa Casimie leading the way with 16 kills on a .433 attack clip. Casimie added six digs. Taylor Sheppy added nine kills on a .421 attack percentage, and Kendalle Howard flirted with a double-double (nine kills, nine digs) while converting on .412 of her tries at the net. Britney Sahlmann dished out 40 assists, and Jade Sanlin made 18 digs.
Kirby Anderson and Alexis Austin made seven kills each for the Lady Tigers. Asia Howard delivered 17 assists. Erin Adams led TSU with eight digs.
