JACKSON, Miss. - Alabama State ran its consecutive conference win to streak to 30 consecutive matches, powering past Jackson State University 3-1 in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play Monday night.

Alabama State (16-7, 9-0 SWAC) ventured to the last place where they lost in conference play – back in 2015 – and walked away with the victory after dropping the first set. They ran their current win streak to 11 consecutive victories this season, and now have won 14 of their last 15 matches.

Ni’yesha Brown, the leader in kills in the conference, led Alabama State with a career-high 25 kills on 63 total attacks, finishing the night with a .286 hitting percentage. She was one of two players in double figures in kills with Briana Dorsey adding 15 while hitting a career-high .652 on the night. Payten Clark finished with nine kills while hitting .389, while the Lady Hornets hit .308 as a team on the night.

Alabama State recorded 62 total kills on the night, to just 46 for Jackson State.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff 3, Prairie View A&M 1 (26-24, 25-22, 22-25, 25-22)

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas - Taylor Sheppy (14) and Lisa Casimie (13) combined for 27 kills to fuel Arkansas-Pine Bluff (5-16, 4-4 SWAC) to a four-set road win over Prairie View A&M (3-10, 3-6 SWAC) Monday night.

Casimie posted 11 digs for a double-double. Kendalle Howard added 11 digs, eight kills and three blocks, narrowly missing out on a double-double. Lauren Corby posted seven kills, five digs and five blocks. Britney Sahlmann had a stat-stuffing performance with 41 assists, seven digs and six kills.

Christen Augustine picked up 14 digs.

A back-and-forth set one looked to be going Prairie View's way after the Lady Panthers built a 17-14 lead, but UAPB managed to come back and -- after PVAMU tied it at 24 -- got a Howard kill, and Corby and Casimie turned away a Goudeau attack to hand set one to the Lady Lions.

UAPB nearly squandered a 20-14 advantage in set two, shaking off a Prairie View comeback to eventually steal the set, but the Lady Panthers returned fire, overcoming a 19-16 deficit with a 9-3 run to make the match 2-1.

After a kill from Taylor Burrall made set 18-12 in favor of UAPB, Prairie View took control with a 9-0 run. However, Sheppy put down three straight kills to spark a match-deciding 7-1 run for the Lady Lions.
