Howard 2, Alabama A&M 1

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Sloshing through the swirling winds and rain of Tropical Storm Nate, the Lady Bulldogs nearly pulled off an upset for their first SWAC win of the season Sunday.

Daijah DeRamus scored her fourth goal of the season in her fourth game with A&M but the Lady Bulldogs fell 2-1 to Howard.

DeRamus put A&M in front at 10:15 of the game when she ripped a shot past the Howard goalkeeper.

The Lady Bulldogs played an aggressive first half, with much of the first 45 minutes played in the Howard half of the field.

But, the second half saw Howard tie the game in the first two minutes and then score the game-winner with about 7 minutes left in the match.

A&M came close to tying the score with about two minutes to play when Alexus Lawson's shot was stopped by the Howard goalkeeper, preserving the Howard win.
