EUGENE, Ore. - The Hornets wrapped up their 2017 campaign as sophomore Jamie Brown earned Second Team All-American honors, representing Alabama State in the men's long jump, Wednesday, June 7 at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship in Eugene, Oregon.

Brown finished his first season in a Hornet uniform with a 7.46 meter leap, landing him a 14th place finish overall, and Second Team All-American honors.

All-America honors are awarded to the top 16 finishers. The top eight finishers receive First Team accolades, and the next eight finishers receive Second Team nods.

This wraps up a successful 2017 season for the Raleigh, N.C. native, who was named the Men's Most Outstanding Field Performer at the 2017 SWAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, which Alabama State won by one point over Grambling State.
