#11 Florida 3, Alabama State 0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-9)

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Alabama State's historic season came to an end at the hands of No. 11 overall seed Florida during a three-set affair in the opening round of the NCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament.

Alabama State (24-9), which came into the contest with the second-best hitting percentage allowed mark in the nation, was unable to slow the Gators, who hit .464 in the match. An early lead in set one was short-lived for the Hornets, who surrendered six straight points to fall behind 9-4 en route to dropping set one.

In set two, again the Lady Hornets battled the Gators closely in the initial stages only to fade as the match wore on. The third set was an one-sided affair in favor of UF.

Bayle' Bennett and Briana Dorsey posted six kills each to lead Alabama State, who lose only one senior from this year's team in SWAC Libero of the Year Jamie Coleman.
