News and Notes:
- While the Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Miss. will serve as host to the Southwestern Athletic Conference's Cross Country Championships, several league members will get a tune-up of sorts on the course as Mississippi Valley, Jackson State and Southern are all set to run in Mississippi College's Watson Ford Invitational, which is held at the conference championship site.
- Alcorn State swept the weekly runner awards for the first time in school history, as Qaseem Wajd and Angelica Jacobs took the honors. Wajd is the first Alcorn men's runner since 2014 to accomplish the feat. Jacobs is the first Lady Brave to win the honor since Condrea Collins won athlete of the week during the final two weeks of the 2012 regular season.
- Alabama State, Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern are looking at Power 5 competition, as PVAMU and TSU will head to College Station for the second time this season to take part in Texas A&M's Aggie Open. The Hornets are scheduled to head south to face off against Florida State in the FSU Invitational.
- Alcorn State and Alabama A&M are scheduled to be idle this week.
