• Grambling State defensive coordinator Dennis Winston has been named interim coach relieveing George Ragsdale, who was serving as interim head coach after the dismissal of head coach Doug Williams prior to week three of the season

• Prairie View A&M’s QB Jerry Lovelocke ranks in the top five in the nation for individual game-highs. He ranks second in total offense (541), completions (42) and passing yards (533) Malcolm Cyrus (Alabama State) becomes the third running back in the league to rush for 200 or more yards. Cyrus (246) joins Courtney Brown (Prairie View A7M - 224) and Tommy Gooden (Jackson State - 214) as the leagues’ top rushing performances on the season

• Alcorn State’s Tavoriss Doss holds the longest play for a touchdown in FCS with a 96-yard punt return against Alabama State

• Jackson State remains the only unbeaten team in conference play with a 5-0 record. Alabama A&M was the last team to start its conference slate 5-0 before suffering its first loss of the year to Alcorn State

• The Sports Network announced its initial 20-player 2013 Jerry Rice Award Watch List with Kourtney Berry (Alabama State) and Javancy Jones (Jackson State) joining the ranks of some of the top redshirt/true freshman that have impacted their teams on the season

• For a third consecutive week, Jackson State, Prairie View A&M and Alabama State are ranked in all three major Black College Football polls including the Sheriden, HSRN and BTR

• Jackson State, Alabama State, Prairie View A&M along with Alcorn State are ranked in all three major Black College Football polls including the Sheriden, HSRN and BTR

• Prairie View A&M’s 56-48 win over Stephen F. Austin (9/28) was the league’s first victory over a non HBCU Division I FCS team since 2009. The last team from the SWAC to accomplish the feat was Grambling State with a 38-17 win over Northwestern State
